Mary is sneaking through the hallways of Mistlethwaite Manor.
Mary is sneaking through the hallways like she hasn't had to do in quite some time - and sharp eyes might notice that her stomach is . . . oddly puffy.
Also, squirming.
Colin's door is open, but Mary closes it behind her when she enters. One hand still on her stomach.

Date: 2006-12-15 06:53 am (UTC)Mary looks over at the closed door.
She looks out the window.
And then, solemnly, she unbuttons her cardigan to reveal the long-toothed kitten wriggling unhappily inside.

The kitten is eyed then before he says, slowly, "I do not think the teeth should be so big."
He's still looking at it with something that miiiight be glee.

"I am meant to be taking care of her."

He does not care.
He is only curious.

Probably.
The kitten eyes Colin, and takes a step closer, nose delicately extended.
"But they are always giving you too much food now anyways," she adds, earnestly. "There will be lots for her to eat."

"This is true," he concedes, and waits, still watching the cat.
"What is her name?"

Date: 2006-12-15 07:30 am (UTC)"People suggested things. I thought you might want to help pick."

Date: 2006-12-15 07:39 am (UTC)"Well, Lucy said Helena, and Steven said Kate. So that is two."
Meanwhile, the kitten has gotten close enough to Colin's hand to start rubbing against it. (You never know where there are strange cats about. Territory must be marked!)

"They are nice names," he says, stiffly.
He did not think of them.
"What sort of name would you like?"

Date: 2006-12-15 07:50 am (UTC)The kitten sneezes.

Date: 2006-12-19 05:11 am (UTC)"Dickon has named lots. But when I asked him he said he did not know."
He'd said a lot of other things, but Mary is ignoring them for now.

Date: 2006-12-19 05:18 am (UTC)"I like Angel."
Colin does not know he believes in angels, but he likes the name.
He especially likes the angels with the flaming swords, but he would be disappointed to meet one Mr Fell and learn what they're really like.

"Angel is a good name."
